We stayed in LA for a a few days first and then set off to Las Vegas. While there we checked out the Hoover Dam and The Valley of Fire in the Nevada Desert – absolutely stunning. From Vegas we drove to Flagstaff – our base to visit the Grand Canyon. Twentynine Palms & Joshua Tree National Park followed, before we (excitedly) made a pit stop in Johannesburg, California – complete with South African street names (Oom Paul Street) and Randsburg – a ghost town, abandoned after the gold rush. From here we stopped over in Santa Barbara for a night and then drove up to San Francisco along the Pacific Coast Highway – breathtakingly beautiful. San Francisco was incredible – cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, amazing seafood at Pier 33, driving down Lombard Street – the world’s most crooked street and visiting Alcatraz Island. From San Francisco we drove to Yosemite National Park – where we saw some of the world’s tallest redwood trees and the world’s smallest brown bear, lol! We spent two more days in San Fran before heading back to LA to catch our flight back to the UK. All in all AMAZING and I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!
Los Angeles – Las Vegas – Flagstaff – Grand Canyon – Twentynine Palms – Joshua Tree – Johannesburg – Randsburg – Santa Barbara – San Francisco – Yosemite – San Francisco – Los Angeles. EPIC.
