“Marty’s sense of the absurd has been capture in so much of his work. He sees things that very few people see in their harried lives. Marty has been able to bring life to these forgotten buildings and signs, to introduce people to this unique time where we, as a nation, still had a sense of whimsy.
As Garfinkel travels the Blue highways, he averages in one year, 20,000 to 30,000 on one of his two motorcycles. For the longer two week rides, he still prefers his touring Harley Davidson. To Marty, it would not be the same adventure in a car, although it is much more work to pull over to the side of the road and dig through the tour packs for one of the several cameras he uses.”
